Fall-2014-Silas_is_7

Dear Friends-
So much happening at once!
Silas turned 7 this year.  I didn't get a lot of photos from his actual b-day, or his party, but you'll get a good idea of what he looks like at 7.  These photos are  from this summer 2014

In August, our friends took us on their boat to a local lake for some tubing and wake boarding fun.
Silas said it was the "best day ever".  His gratitude always makes a fun day even better.

Silas wants more speed (probably to bump off his friend)

Where else do you eat lunch?  on the Tube of course, while picnicking at Bird Island

In June, while Christal and Meg were on mission trip to Costa Rica, and Zack was hiking on the Appalachian Trail (Georgia), I had Silas to myself.   AND thankfully Jessica was able to come to town.  We had a great time and Silas soaked up all the hugs and attention.  These photos were at a place called Bok Tower and Gardens.   The Tower is an authentic carillon bell tower that dates back to the early 1900s.  We explored lots of trails, fed the fish, and listened to the bells.

Wedding In July -- Meg and I took a quick trip to California to attend Janet and Chuck's wedding.  It was a wonderful time to reconnect with the family and celebrate the start of a new chapter.  Meg even got to try surfing at Manhattan Beach.

Surfing!  and a Golden California Sunset on the night of the wedding.

On Silas actual Birthday (9/1/14) we had a family day at home, with some barbecue and card playing on the patio.

Then the following weekend we sprinted up to Atlanta for Cousin SaraBeth's wedding

An Actual Birthday pool party - at a local Marriott resort  - Silas blowing out candles with all his First Grade Classmates.
The kids enjoyed the pool and water slide, a second pool with a pirate ship, and lots of room to roam and run and have a blast.

The resort also had a Mini Golf course

Thanks for checking in on Si - as you can see we are very proud of him as he transitioned into first Grade this year .  With new demands for reading, writing, and a whole host of other school projects he is learning a lot. It has not been easy for him, but he is hanging in there.   He continues to meet and make friends wherever he goes - never meets a stranger - and always gives good cheer to all who come his way.
